Pantai Tanjung Pendam Beach: Sunset Spot In Belitung Indonesia

Pantai Tanjung Pendam is the most popular beach on Belitung island in Indonesia, and it’s also the easiest to reach, being super close to town.

Since it’s west facing, Tanjung Pendam Beach is also a great spot to watch the sunset. The floating trees give it a surreal look, and if you’re lucking you’ll even get boats passing by in the distance.

Where To Stay In Belitung

 

Pantai Tanjung Pendam Beach

Tanjung Pendam Beach has a long stretch of sand, and you can watch the boats going in and out of the harbor at Tanjung Pandan.

It’s not a particularly scenic beach during the daytime, but the area is wide open with lots of room for jogging and hanging out.
 

Tanjung Pendam Sunset

Where Tanjung Pendam really shines (pun) is at sunset. This was our favorite sunset spot on Belitung island.

The tide comes in and the trees seem to float on the ocean, with a mirror-like reflection. There’s even one tree with a ‘window’ that you can view the sunset through.

The best part is that it’s just a 3 minute drive from the city center, so you can easily watch the sunset every night. We did. From some hotels you can walk to the beach and back.

 

Entrance Fees

There’s a tiny 3k IDR (20 cents) entrance fee as of 2020.
 

How To Get There

Pantai Tanjung Pendam is located on the west side of Tanjung Pandan city.

The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver. You can book either of these with Billitone Capture.
