The Golden Valley Waterfall is a hidden gem in the jungles of Munduk, Bali.
This waterfall is in the same area as the more well known Munduk Waterfall, but we actually liked this one better and itโs mostly unknown to tourists.
Itโs very easy to visit, so be sure to add it to your North Bali to do list! This travel guide will explain how to get there, and everything you need to know before you go!
Where To Stay In Munduk
Golden Valley Waterfalls
Itโs a short, easy 15 minute hike down to the waterfall and you can start from either side of the river (we started from the south entrance).
At the bottom, thereโs a couple of small cafes selling food/drinks and locally sourced civet coffee, with nice views of the falls.
The waterfall is about 15 meters (50 feet) tall, and the pool below is shallow enough you can walk up close to the waterfall. It makes for some great photos!
Munduk Waterfall Hike
You can do this waterfall as part of a complete hike that visits 4 falls:
- Golden Valley Waterfall
- Munduk Waterfall (aka Red Coral Waterfall)
- Labuhan Kebo Waterfall
- Laangan Waterfall (aka Melanting Waterfall)
You can start the hike at Golden Valley and end at Laangan, or vice versa. Be prepared to spend a few hours if you hike between all four of them!
Entrance Fee
Thereโs an entry fee of 10k IDR (less than one US Dollar) at Golden Valley, as of 2020.
How To Get There
Golden valley waterfall is located in the Munduk area of north Bali, Indonesia.
Itโs a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Ubud, or about 1 hour from Singaraja.
The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver (both of these can be booked online).
The parking area is well signposted by the road but it doesnโt have a lot of space, so be aware. Thereโs room for just 1 van and some change.

Bali Private Driver & Motorbike Rental
If you want to explore Bali in the comfort and safety of a private car with an English speaking driver, my top recommendation would be GetYourGuide.
Their price is 650k Rupiah ($45 USD) for a full day of driving and sightseeing in Bali (up to 10 hours) for 1-5 passengers. That's the total price for the whole car + driver + petrol! It's a great deal. They also offer affordable hotel transfers from the airport.
If you'd rather travel by motorbike, they have that too. Their scooter rentals start at 140k Rupiah (~$9) and include a helmet, rain coat, and free delivery in the south Bali area.
We've used GetYourGuide for lots of tours and activities around the world, and they're great! Highly recommended.
