Lamai Beach viewpoint (not to be confused with Lamai viewpoint) is a must see if youโre ever visiting Koh Samui island in Thailand.
Some of the best views on the island can be had here.
This travel guide will explain how to get there, and everything you need to know before you go!
Lamai Beach Viewpoint
The viewpoint sits on top of some huge boulders at the south end of Lamai Beach.
After a short 2 minute hike, youโre rewarded with panoramic views of the entire east and south coast of Samui island.
To the south you can almost see the bottom tip of the island, and to the north you can see Lamai Beach stretching out in the distance.
With the help of a drone, you can get some even more unique and amazing perspectives here!
Entrance Fees
Thereโs a 10 baht (30 cent) entry fee for going up to the top viewpoint, as of 2019.
How To Get There
The viewpoint is at the south end of Lamai Beach, which is a popular spot on the east side of Koh Samui island.
You can easily walk to the viewpoint from Lamai Beach, but youโll have to climb some extra stairs.
Once you reach the main parking area, itโs a short 2 minute hike up to the top!
EXTRA: Lower Viewpoint
After seeing the top viewpoint, you can walk down to the Hin Ta / Hin Yai rocks and get another view from the bottom. This one is just as scenic!
Where We Stayed
We stayed at a hotel called At Lamai Resort and paid $16 USD for a big double room with cold AC, hot shower, and fast WiFi.
This hotel is a great value. Even though itโs not located directly on Lamai Beach, you can easily reach the beach, markets, and restaurants with a 10 minute walk.
Prices may fluctuate from time to time, so just keep an eye out for a good deal.
