Nunggalan Beach is one of our favorite hidden beaches in Bali, with several kilometers of white sand stretching along the green cliffs and almost no tourists in sight.
But what really makes this place unique is the Instagrammable shipwreck on the beach, which is perfect for pictures.

Nunggalan Beach Bali
Nunggalan beach sits at the bottom of a big cliff, and to reach it youโll have to hike down from the parking area above.
That sounds scary, but itโs not at all. The hike takes about 20 minutes on the way down and 30 minutes going back up.
There are a few sections with loose rocks you could slip on, but itโs never anything dangerous at all. We wore sandals and that was fine all the way.
Climbing back up is exhausting! Thankfully thereโs a little drink shack where you can buy fresh coconut juice on the way back.
(Side note: itโs also possible to hike to Nunggalan directly from Nyang Nyang beach, but this takes a lot longer)
Nunggalan Beach Shipwreck
When you reach the beach, one of the first things youโll notice is the wooden shipwreck in the sand.
Itโs a cool spot to sit and take pictures, and the views in the background are amazing too.
There used to be two Uluwatu shipwrecks here (both fragments from the same boat), but sadly one of the pieces seems to have washed away.
Entrance Fees
FREE as of 2020.
Thereโs no parking fee or entrance fee at Nunggalan Beach.
How To Get There
Nunggalan Beach is located in the Uluwatu area of south Bali.
The best way to get there is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver (both of these can be booked online). Itโs a 30-45 minute drive from the Kuta area, depending on traffic.
Thereโs a small parking lot at Villa Plenilunio, and the hike starts from there. Just follow the narrow path and there will be signs for Nunggalan.
EXTRA: Nyang Nyang Beach
Nunggalan is next to Nyang Nyang Beach, and you can walk to it if youโre up for more exploring.
A lot of people get these two beaches mixed up. The shipwreck is actually at Nunggalan, but Nyang Nyang also has some nice views and they are not far apart from each other.

Nunggalan Beach Camping โ Bubble Hotel
If you want more adventure, there are bubble hotels at Nunggalan Beach where you can stay the night!
We havenโt tried this, but it looks fun. Just donโt go expecting a luxury experience, but I still think it would be fun to try for at least one night.
The beach itself is amazing, so it would be a great place to wake up in the morning.
